How the album service works

“How do I get an album?” you’re probably asking yourselves.

My photo album service works actually quite simply:

1. Contact me

You`re welcome to contact me . I will get back to you as soon as possible.

2. Short briefing

We can discuss the further procedure by email or telephone. I will also provide you with an approximate bill of costs, if you wish so. Otherwise I will send you the final invoice after finishing my work.

3. Select photos

You choose the photos at home (or if you don’t feel like it or don’t have the time, just send me all the photos you took and I’ll sort them out). Nearly all my photos in my albums and 99% of the photos on this blog were taken with a reflex camera. So these photos look qualitatively different than mobile photos.

But an album with only cell phone photos will also look very nice. I edit the photos with a professional editing program (see prices) anyway.

Very important! The photos must have a certain basic quality.

Photos that are too blurred or grainy will be rejected by the CEWE software (or simply have to be displayed very small).

4. Now your photos have to be placed somewhere

For this you need a USB stick. If you have a CD burner, you can also burn the photos onto a CD. Or if you have a big enough cloud, you can upload the photos there.

5. Make a few thoughts about the design

Before you send me the photos, you should think about the design. Now it depends on the budget you have set yourselves.

The more you think about it before, the less time I have to spend (the less I put on the final bill).

Of course you can also give me free choice for the complete album design. That means I choose the background colors of the pages according to the photos. A consistent appearance of the album is very important to me (see example pictures).

Choose the size of the album. But I can also advise you there.

-If you want to have a say in the design, I need your choice for the photo that will be on the front cover and (if desired) a title.

-Then 1 photo for the first page and 1 photo for the last. On the first page I usually write a title or a short description of what we experienced (see examples) and on the last page a final sentence etc. But that is up to you.

The first page on the left and the last page on the right must always remain empty for production. In my personal albums I always stick our entrance tickets, boarding passes, postcards or other memories of the respective journey here. If you send me the tickets etc., I can glue them in a nice arranged way for you (or you can do it yourself at home). Of course you can also leave the two sides empty.

6. Share these thoughts with me

Either you send me all information (which photo on a whole page or double page, if desired texts), which I should know in an attached letter or you send me an email. We can also discuss everything in advance by phone, if you prefer.

7. Send your photos to me

Afterwards you send me the USB stick or the CD by post. For this you should use a padded envelope (available at the post office). Otherwise you should glue the stick or CD on thicker paper and stabilize the edges of the envelope with tape. The sorting machine might get stuck on the stick. The envelope would be opened and the stick would be lost (has happened before).

8. As soon as I have received your mail, I will contact you

If I still had any questions, I would also share them.

9. I design the album

10. The album is ordered by me (without or with a joint review of the final product)

As soon as I finish it, I’ll get back to you. I will inform you about the final price of the album (see prices) and order it after your OK.

If you wish (billing according to the time spent) we can go through it page by page together (for that I share my screen with yours). Possible changes can be discussed with me live.

11. The album will be checked by me for quality

If everything`s all right, I’ll send it to you. If there are any manufacturing error (has only happened once before), I will take over the reclamation for you.

12. Finally you can hold your photo album in your hands

This is, of course, always the best moment!

Have fun with your memories. 🙂

13. Payment

The bill for the photo album comes from CEWE. A payment order will be enclosed.

I also attach my time statement for what you owe me. It`s also possible to pay that amount via Twint.

14. Voluntarily submit a rating 🙂

I would be very happy about a feedback. You can send it to me by email. Afterwards I will post it under your desired name or under “anonymous” on this blog.
