My name`s Nicole and I live in beautiful Switzerland
Since many years I had in mind, that it would be a great pleasure for me to have my own travel blog.
When and where the start of this blog was born
I confided this wish to my husband, during a dinner in a wonderful restaurant in Vienna. Here we spent some days in our summer holidays in 2018. I was a bit unsure about his opinion, that I wanted to start blogging too. Since so many great blogs on every imaginable topic already exist these days. But he was immediately infected by my euphoria and right away we started brainstorming. Now I also have an excuse for my photos of restaurants, bars and dishes, which I`ve been taking for years. ?
Since autumn 2019 I have time for this heart project
I extremely love my work with all my dear customers and the beautiful cosmetic treatments. But after 11 years of freelance work, it physically became too much for me. In summer 2019 I decided to work less from autumn on wards. So I finally had more time for myself and my (other) heart’s project.
When I travel (and also elsewhere) I really like contrasts
I love camping in nature, just as I appreciate an extraordinary boutique hotel.
The feeling of freedom when I`m camping, to be just with yourself in nature, is something very special. And if you add a great view to that (which you very rarely have from a hotel room), the term indescribable describes it most suitable. Indescribably beautiful, of course ? But it’s the variety that counts. A good balance is crucial for me. I also enjoy a night in a hotel every now and then and the comfort, that such an overnight stay brings.
The same goes for the food
To cook something delicious in the middle of nowhere brings me almost the same pleasure as for example a gourmet dinner in a nice atmosphere. And that should mean something, considering what was important to me before we got a VW bus and started to travel mainly like this. ?
What I don’t like at all
I absolutely don`t like huge, impersonal campgrounds and hotel complexes. In a hotel you at least have a room and a bathroom for yourself, but when camping, your privacy is completely gone. But as this is very important to me, I only stay in such a place in an absolute emergency.
My love for travel research
It has always been a lot of fun for me to spend countless hours on research about our travel destinations. And since I`ve always been good at finding great restaurants, small campsites and hotels, I will share them with you. ?
On my travel blog you`ll find stories from our travel adventures and many of my photos
Sometimes with personal stories, but always with many tips, I would like to help you to make your holiday and excursion plannings easier and faster. I already used a lot of my time for it, so maybe I can take some of the work off your shoulders.
Since I love to take pictures, you`ll find many of my photographs on this blog. I hope that they will help you to decide if the destination is something for you. For me personal it`s always helpful when I can take a look at many photos before I decide on a destination.
